More information about nearshoring

General

Nearshoring is a type of outsourcing and refers to the sourcing of services from a neighbouring country. The nearshore company is usually located on the same continent as the client.

Lower language barriers and cultural proximity make communication between teams easier. As the distances are shorter, there is no need for long-distance travel when the entire team meets on site. Nearshore locations also have the advantage that the lead times for projects are generally shorter than with offshoring. Work is completed more efficiently and quickly. At the same time, access to highly qualified specialists is guaranteed.

Nearshoring is essentially suitable for companies of any size and in any industry. The model is particularly suitable when there is high cost pressure, fluctuating resource requirements or difficulties in finding qualified IT specialists, be it for software development, IT support, consulting or other IT tasks. A key advantage of nearshoring is its great flexibility and the ability to source IT expertise as and when required.

Our nearshore locations are in Slovakia (Bratislava, Kosice, Pezinok), Poland (Wroclaw), Bulgaria (Sofia), Romania (Cluj) and Hungary (Budapest).

Our tech expertise covers a broad spectrum of backend, frontend, web and enterprise technologies. In particular, this includes SAP, Java, Angular, React, Vue.JS, .NET, mobile development (iOS Android), AWS/Azure, DevOps, UI/UX, test automation, SharePoint and many more.

Price

As a rule of thumb, the costs are around 30 to 40 percent lower than in western Europe. In general, they depend on several factors. These include the qualifications and experience of the specialists, the complexity of the services, the technologies used and the geographical location of the nearshore site.

Yes, companies can generally save costs through nearshore outsourcing, especially compared to onshore services. For example, we can provide you with support or take on development projects. This frees up your own staff, who can concentrate on strategically important digitalisation projects, for example.

Naturally. A key advantage of our nearshoring model is the scalability of resources. Many customers start with micro-teams of two or three people, which gives them the opportunity to test the collaboration and later scale up as required.

Quality

The quality of our nearshore services is very high, as we employ qualified specialists. We pay attention to high-quality training and are also very well networked in the academic environment of our locations.

Our certifications cover various aspects such as quality management, ranging from ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 20000-1 to ISO 27001.

To protect themselves from dubious providers, companies should carry out thorough research, check references and negotiate clear contracts with clearly defined services and KPIs. On request, we can facilitate on-site reference visits for our customers to give them a clear picture of the setup. Thanks to the language skills offered by teamative, ambiguities and communication problems can be avoided from the outset.

Cooperation

Collaboration with a nearshore service provider usually takes place via virtual communication channels such as video calls, emails, project management tools and occasional on-site visits. At teamative, we rely on a Single Point of Contact who is available as a bridgehead for all questions and is in constant contact with the client through regular meetings.

Depending on the deployment scenario and customer requirements, we use different billing models. These include, for example, TM, service contracts, all-inclusive monthly flat rates and fixed price contracts.

Security and compliance

As a nearshore service provider, we ensure that all data is protected by appropriate measures such as encryption, access restrictions and data protection guidelines.

In nearshore countries, similar security standards are often applied as those in force in other industrialised countries. However, it must always be ensured that providers comply with the applicable data protection laws and have appropriate security measures in place. We attach great importance to this and will be happy to advise you if you have any questions.

Nearshoring resolves any contract staffing issues as workers operate from abroad. Customers therefore remain flexible.
